Modelling of transient processes at pressure pipes in the abaqus FE-code

Abstract eng:
Paper focuses on possibilities of transient processes modelling at pressure pipe system of a non-nuclear part of a certain power plant and summarizes the results of related numerical studies. Effect of hardening (isotropic, linear kinematic, Chaboche, Johnson-Cook), various descriptions of tensile diagram (bilinear, multilinear, Krupkowsky), and effect of dynamic load are studied. Demand of usage the proper constitutive model of elastoplasticity is highlighted. Various types of yield surfaces as well as evolution of internal variables of presented models of plasticity are described. Finally, the methodology of pipe whip restraints assessment including material and geometric nonlinearities is presented.
