Factors influencing the accuracy of the measured stress-strain curves of elastomers

Abstract eng:
This article deals with three different factors which can influence the accuracy of the stress-strain data of elastomers measured with a biaxial testing rig. In terms of computational simulations of experiments the influence of: spacing between clamps, dimension of the specimen and distance of reference length was studied. Simulations showed that some factors have substantial influence on measuring data. The obtained information was used for improvement of the accuracy in real experiments realized on the mechanical testing machine Camea.
