These equations are developed for Maximum Interstory Drift Ratio (MIDR) and Roof Drift Ratio (RDR). One set of generic elastic moment-resisting frames is used to validate the proposed formulation against the results of Response Spectrum Analysis (RSA). The results confirm that the new equations provide a conservative but accurate estimate of the structural response while simplifying the computational process.
