000019399 520__ $$2eng$$aAfter an introduction on the response spectrum calculation, this article sets a comparison between the pseudo acceleration spectra, the Eurocode-8 spectrum and the structure acceleration spectra. It shows that the Eurocode-8 procedure gives results which are not conservative concerning damped and isolated structures. In consequence, a formula is introduced to fix the Eurocode-8 spectra and ensure a safe design.
