This article proposes fragility functions for typical two-story confined masonry dwellings made of representative tubular clay bricks in Peru. One of those is non-retrofitted dwelling and another is retrofitted by wire mesh and plaster mortar. Fragility curves showed 50% of probability that the non-retrofitted dwelling will get collapse from 300gals of PGA unlike the retrofitted dwelling, which will get collapse from 650 gals. Also the non-retrofitted dwelling suggests that smaller increment in strong ground motion will result in higher probability of damage, which is reduced by the improvement of retrofitting of wire mesh and plaster mortar.
