Many of them are located on the flatland, and the inner structure of the high platform is little known. Unlike the structure at the Egyptian pyramid which was fully constructed by stone masonry, pyramid shape of the Angkor monuments might be constructed of the combined materials such as surface stone, and inner laterite and compacted soil fill.
