Self-excited vibrations due to stick-slip effect and stability conditions are defined using 1 degree of freedom mechanical system. Nonlinear behavior of friction force with negative slope is considered. Response is obtained by numerical solution of ordinary differential equation. Conditions for self-exciting vibrations exhibition has been defined and discussed.
