DYNAMICS OF SOLIDS CAPABLE OF STRUCTURAL TRANSFORMATIONS

Abstract eng:
The present paper is devoted to dynamics of structural transformations in solids under mechanical impact. We consider two-component model of material with complex crystalline structure, consisting of two lattices with similar physical properties. The lattices are connected with nonlinear internal forces, providing several stable equilibriums. Continuous model is compared with a discrete one, which is used to demonstrate the reduction of initial pulse due to transition of energy to the latent degrees of freedom responsible for structural transformations.
