EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE ESTIMATION OF FOUR PALACE BUILDINGS AND MEASUREMENTS OF VIBRATION DECREASING FOR CULTURAL RELICS CABINET IN BEIJING FORBIDDEN CITY

Abstract eng:
In order to research the seismic performance of Taihe, Zhonghe, Baohe and Wenhua Palace, nonlinear dynamic time response analyses under different earthquakes and PGA levels are carried out. ANSYS/LS-DYNA is used to conduct the finite element analysis. Moreover, in order to select more effective seismic protection measurements for the storage cabinets of cultural relics in the existing underground storehouse of the Palace Museum, seismic responses of storage cabinets with different spring-dampers connected between each other are calculated. Corresponding acceleration and displacement responses are compared. Suggestions on parameter settings of spring dampers which maximum the damping efficiency are finally given.
