INFLUENCE OF TEMPERATURE CHANGES ON DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF STRUCTURES WITH VE DAMPERS

The paper is devoted to a method for determining natural frequencies of vibration and dimensionless damping factors of structures with viscoelastic dampers. The dampers described by rheological models using fractional derivatives are considered. The dynamic characteristics are calculated by solving, in an approximate way, nonlinear eigenproblem. For this purpose the method given in [1] and extended in [2] to the case of dampers modeled by fractional Kelvin model was used. In this paper the more general formulation of this method enabling solving the nonlinear eigenproblem for the case of multi-parameter model of the VE damper described with the use of the fractional derivative is presented. The approximate method of solving of the nonlinear eigenproblem is based on a continuous dependence of the sensitivity of eigenvalue on a certain artificially introduced parameter which incrementally increases the impact of damping in the dynamic system. The effectiveness of the developed algorithm was verified by performing numerical calculations for sample frame structures and comparing them with the results of solution of nonlinear eigenproblem, obtained using the continuation method described in [3]. The developed method allows to take into account the influence of temperature changes of the viscoelastic material on dynamic characteristics of structures with dampers. The frequency-temperature proportionality principle was utilized. A series of numerical analyses was made. The results proved, that the influence of temperature changes on the natural frequencies of vibration and the dimensionless damping factors of structures with viscoelastic dampers is significant.
