DAMAGE SURVEY OF 2016 KUMAMOTO EARTHQUAKE AND NUMERICAL STUDY ON ELASTO-PLASTIC DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF PLATE GIRDER BRIDGES

Abstract eng:
In Japan, April 14th, 21:26, 2016, the earthquake measured maximum seismic intensity 7 calculated by the standard of the Japanese Meteorological Agency was recorded. According to the observation record of the KIK-NET, the maximum acceleration, 3,867 gal (EW component), was obtained in Mashiki Town. Larger earthquake was experienced in Kumamoto prefecture about one day after. Enormous damage in infrastructure occurred by a series of severe earthquakes. Damage also occurred to some bridges and the bridges constructed in Tawarayama bypass were very huge damage in particular. There are six bridges in Tawarayama bypass from Kumamoto sides, namely, Ookirihata Bridge, Ookiraiha Dam Bridge, Kuwazuru Bridge, Ooginosaka Bridge, Susukinohara Bridge and Tawarayama Bridge. As the route passes through the mountains, the bridges are often curved bridges. In this study, it is aimed at investigating some damages of their bridges through earthquake response analysis. At first, damages of their bridges were summarized. And then, some damage mechanisms were discussed. Moreover, UAV and a three-dimensional scanner were used in order to grasp of these damages. It was possible to take pictures of the damages at the territory into which a person can't enter, applying UAV technique. It was found that the urgent damage grasping by using UAV was very effective through these facts. However, it was also found that many problems are still left for preserving digital data like point cloud. Secondary, FE models for grasping seismic behavior of steel girder bridges located in Tawarayama bypass were prepared. Damages with buckling behavior of main girders was so conspicuous, that an analytical model applying shell elements was made in order to consider local buckling behavior. In this study, a predicted analysis about seismic behavior of Ookirihata Bridge will be concentrated in. Next, eigenvalue analyses were carried out to grasp vibration modes. As results, it was found that the situation of the damage was similar to these mode, when low order mode was seen. Finally, procedure of seismic response analysis was discussed. At present, Earthquake response analysis is being put into effect eagerly. So, it's expected to present results of the dynamic analysis in this conference.
