Conventional concrete (CC) specimens (as references) and fibre reinforced concrete with different proportion of PP fibres were exposed to a simulated marine environment for 24 months. Durability assessment is carried out based on the time to corrosion-induced cracking in reinforced concrete beam specimens by utilizing accelerated chloride-induced corrosion test. Observations proves that the fibre-concrete composites not only improves the mechanical properties of concrete but also enhances the durability of concrete considering the increment of the time to concrete cover cracking as well as reducing the anodic current as an assessment for concrete electrical resistivity.
