STRENGTH AND STABILITY ASSESSMENT OF EXISTING BUILDINGS IN ISRAEL

The Middle East is prone to frequent seismic tremors which affect buildings and civil engineering facilities. New demands of economical nature lead to achievement of larger structures with increased openings and augmented loads. This process affects both the existent and new structures with significant masses which contribute to the development of inertial loads endangering the structure loaded by dynamic effects (earthquake, wind, oscillations, blasts etc.).
