COMPARISON OF THE TURKISH REGULATIONS AND EUROCODES REGARDING THE PIPELINES AND EARTHQUAKES
Abstract eng: Several countries in Europe including Turkey are affected by earthquakes. And recent earthquakes showed that seismic actions can cause substantial damage to buried pipelines. This paper compares the Turkish regulations and Eurocodes regarding the pipelines and earthquakes. The current status of the process of the national standardization of Eurocodes in Turkey is described. Comparison of both Turkish regulations and Eurocodes with other standarts in the world is presented. Specific recommendations for improvements are made.
