It implies the simulation of wind-structure interaction and is showcased here on tall structures. The main underlying assumptions and involved building blocks of the scheme are discussed. Prototype model problem results regarding the application of added mass damper types – an optimally tuned passive mass one and a semi-active variation – accompany these ideas. An outlook related to the scalability and extendibility of the approach follows. Efficiency also characterizes the whole workflow with its balanced trade-off between the usage of multi-fidelity models with adequate complexity and results relevant for engineering purposes – such as the mitigated structural displacements and/or accelerations – with satisfying reliability and accuracy. Moreover, aspects of versatility and modularity are highlighted which are inherent to this multiply-partitioned treatment of the subsystems.
