Evaluation of changes in elastic properties of animal trabecular bone for mechanical tests depending on the storage method

Abstract eng:
The study presents the results of the evaluation of changes in the elastic modulus of a porcine and bovine trabecular bone depending on the storage method. The bone samples were taken from the porcine and bovine femoral bones. The samples were stored in a 10% formalin solution and frozen at -20°C. The samples were tested immediately after taking, and after 7, 14 and 21 days. A statistical evaluation of the test results was carried out. The results showed that the changes in modulus value in dependence on storage method are not statistically significant.
