Fatigue life assessment of prestressed material
Abstract eng: The contribution deals with a problem of estimating fatigue lives of machine parts subjected simultaneously to static and dynamic loading. A new method of estimating residual fatigue lives of materials with exponential SN curves under a high prestress is presented, which avoids expensive fatigue tests other than those with zero mean stress.
