000022724 520__ $$2eng$$aThe article presents the results of the numerical analysis of the state of stress, in a positive displacement external gear pump. The calculations were conducted using the SIMULIA Abaqus software using the finite element method. The model adopted in the work assumes an extremely unfavorable load. The source of the load is the torque at which the bolts connecting the pump elements are tightened. The calculations were verified by conducting an experiment consisting in measuring the deformation of the pump casing using a resistance strain gauge. The results of numerical calculations were compared with the results of the experiment.
