Cultural heritage in cobweb of meanings

Abstract eng:
Culture and cultural heritage in recent years are more and more clearly visible in the market in terms of products (including for example the design, which is inspired by folk art motifs) and services (as evidenced by cultural tourism), which one can buy or sell. Cultural heritage has ceased to be of interest only to museum curators and cultural anthropologists (in whose work stems the very concept of cultural heritage) and it has become an important area of concern, among others, inside local communities, which are increasingly aware of its role in shaping their cultural identity, between entrepreneurs, who see it as an opportunity to develop their business and profit, and as well among politicians who see it more often through the lens of resource development and make important area of strategic management region. It is a broad concept that although quite intensively discussed in literature, is still not really clear. In the proposed paper there was taken an attempt to look closer on the multi-dimensional character of cultural heritage, the variety of expectations of different stakeholders towards cultural heritage, on how they can be reconciled and how cultural heritage should be governed.
