Flood risk assessment and analysis to cultural asset in Taiwan

The preventive approach of cultural asset in Taiwan has long been focusing on single aspect. However, what cultural asset really needs is a comprehensive preventive approach to fight against the frequent and destructive disaster results from climate change. This study uses flood- the most common disaster in Taiwan as its target disaster type to outline the cultural asset risk map. Prior to this study, the research team examines cultural asset in New Taipei City in northern Taiwan via geographic information system and disaster simulation system based on risk management. Furthermore, it offers suggestions to decrease cultural asset risk that integrates concepts of risk map with cultural assets conservation. This study now concentrates on not only verifying cultural asset risk assessment and outlining the risk map for the entire island, but examining the existing cultural asset prevention strategies.
