Toward a general method for structural seismic assessment of cultural heritage

Abstract eng:
We aim to develop tools for a preventive structural assessment of a large panel of historical buildings, starting from architectural, mechanical and geographical data, in order to define and rank risks for each structure. In a first part we expose the interest, importance and characteristics of the panel of buildings we study: Savoy displays a rich baroque heritage with structural similitudes and is one of the most seismic parts of metropolitan France, which lets us fear severe damages. After a first inventory, we surveyed each building, which allowed us building a data base about this heritage. According to structural criteria we established a small number of homogeneous types. Finally we will describe the first results of dynamic analysis based on the simplified finite element model of an example, which validate our approach.
