Trvanlivost a spolehlivost opravy Karlova mostu - problémy a nedostatky

Abstract eng:
Long-term research has proven that the core of Charles Bridge shows a high moisture content by weight and is contaminated by soils (sulphates, nitrates, chlorides), which are the consequence of the long-term leakage and application of deicing agents. The occurrence of a series of mechanical failures manifested by cracks in the stone blocks on the bridge vault facing, by prominent cracking between the breast wall and the vault, is caused, in particular, by non-stress effects of temperature and moisture content changes and the interaction of the stone bridge vaults with the bridge filler. The project and the current repair of the bridge do not consistently solve these problems thus setting off real risks of the continuation of degradation chemical and biochemical processes impairing the stone and arcose blocks and the occurrence of failures due to their mutual interaction.
