Sledování nízkoteplotních vlastností – poznatky z České republiky

Abstract eng:
This paper focuses on the questions of asphalt mix behavior and testing at low temperatures. The objective is to make road infrastructure investors and experts acquainted with gained experience and preferred admission of experts in the Czech Republic. In this country the climatic conditions are not kindly for simple asphalt mix applications due to distinct temperature differences during the year. Practical part of the paper addresses testing, analysis and evaluation of low temperature characteristics of high stiffness modulus asphalt mixes and SAL asphalt mixes (stress absorbing layers). The issues of asphalt mix behavior at low temperatures and pavement failures caused by temperatures below 0°C are at first glance as marked but prevention of their creation or knowledge of pavement behavior for proper repairing of such failures are important factors which influence the quality of asphalt pavements not only in the Czech Republic.
