Abstract eng:
The simple supported beam with intermediate elastic support is used as the simplification model for the solution of the friction effect in the buckling of the column. Using the linear elastic stability solution we can define the „critical stiffness of the elastic support“. The nonlinear solution gives more information about the behaviour of the beam and we are able to evaluate the force in the elastic support as well. The behaviour of the beam with the elastic intermediate support is sensitive to initial imperfection.
