This paper studies the problem of modeling hydrodynamic effects among interconnected river segments with an indirect flow control. Our ideas are applied to the problem of revitalizing the river Tica, which requires guaranteeing a controlled flow of water throughout the year. Mathematical modeling of relatively slow processes helps us to answer the question of how to transport water from the river Latorica to the river Velka Karcava using an indirect flow control through a series of sluice gates on the river Tica.
