Physical modeling plays important role in solution of problems of the projection, building-up or construction work of water structures and also in stint of mathematical solution validation. Nevertheless all three principles work together i.e. physical modeling, mathematical modeling and measurement on real subjects or in solution of similar works. In the paper we solve the problem of physical modeling of upper part of lock chamber Přelouč II on the Labe going out from the experiences of Laboratory of Water Management Research Department of Water Structures Faculty of Civil Engineering Brno University of Technology. The limiting factors are identified and discussed.
