000002815 520__ $$2eng$$aNowadays, the design of overflow chambers is mostly proceeded by manuals. These manuals mostly offer simple graphic-numerical empirical procedures. With these procedures is the design of an overflow chamber relative easy. Those graphic-numerical dependences come out from a research performed on physical models of certain type of an overflow chamber. Problems come in case by changing shape and proportion of constructions affected by local conditions of sewer network topology or by changing construction during building. In this paper a comparison of parameters determined from guides with flow rate values from CFD simulation made in FLOW-3D software was carried out.
