Európska družicová misia GOCE – nové možnosti spresnenia modelov tiažového poľa

Abstract eng:
The Gravity Field and Steady-State Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE) is the first satellite with the gradiometer onboard. The theory of satellite gravity gradiometry (SGG) that has been developing throughout the several decades can now be fully applied. This paper gives an overview of the activities of Faculty of Civil Engineering, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava connected to GOCE data utilisation within the framework of the projects VEGA 1/0775/08 and APVV-0351-07. The aim of these activities is to compile an efficient methodology for refinement of the regional gravity field models. This paper is organized as follows: First, the basic information about the GOCE mission is given. Then the problem of downward continuation of observed SGG data is discussed and finally the topic of combination of satellite and terrestrial data is treated.
