The bar is of a shape of tube and inside in the center (the axis) there is heating wire. Frequency changes with temperature and this effect is caused by thermal expansion and by temperature dependency of Young's modulus of elasticity. The resonant frequency was measured using a microphone detecting sound induced by axial impact onto the end of the bar. The frequency peaks in spectrum represent resonant frequency and higher harmonics. Temperature was measured by contactless infrared thermometer.
