Globalization process, growing demands put on the man and urgency of humane preparation of students at technical universities. Teaching humanities and social-scientific subjects – one of the means of humanization of the university study at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at STU. Their position and tasks, content orientation and teaching objectives. Understanding of broader social, environmental and human relations of utilizing modern science and technology – its main objective. Efficiency of teaching these subjects and possibilities of its increasing. Advantages of dialog forms of teaching compared with monologue ones. Seeking new forms of dialogue. Specialization and improving qualification of lecturers teaching these subjects – a way of increasing quality and efficiency of humane preparation of students.
