Physical model of the human bloodstream system resistance – experimental evaluation

Experimental line for measuring velocity of the pulse wave in vessels (aorta) using invasive or noninvasive methods is designed in the Laboratory of human biomechanics, CTU of Prague. One of the basic parts of the experimental line is an element simulating periphery resistance of bloodstream. The element gradually divides the fluid stream to separate resistance segments. With the growing number of segments, the total flow cross-section is growing and the fluid mean velocity in the segments is decreasing. The output to input ratio of the total flow cross-section is approximately five. This element developed in the Laboratory of human biomechanics was tested together with a similar type from the IT CAS Prague. Design of both tested elements shows high suitability for the physical model of the bloodstream system resistance of human.
