Numerical modelling of iteraction between maquette of skull and protective helmet

Abstract eng:
The article deals with development and validation of Finite Element model of bicycle protective helmet with static load. Static load of the model of bicycle protective helmet is simulated using Finite Element system ANSYS. The standardized dummy head used in standard laboratory tests is evaluated using simple contact analysis. The aim of the project is to obtain details about contact forces and stresses between the human head maquette and the helmet, which will be used for future development of protective aids as well as for computer simulation of more complex loading during the traffic accident.
