The measurement of forces and tensions at strip rolling and coiling
Abstract eng: The paper is devoted to the practical applications of methods of experimental mechanics to the specific problems at product of steel strips. The use of two methods of experimental stress analysis – photoelasticity and strain gauge method – is demonstrated at design of rolling forces transducers and transducers for strip tension measurements at strip rolling and coiling. The rolling mill with strip coilers makes up the mechanical system and the measured values of rolling forces and strip tensions are the basic parameters for the correct control of technological process.
