Airplane level turn at regimes of thrust deficit


Abstract eng:
In this paper relations of a time deceleration an unsteady horizontal banked turn and corresponding flight direction change are derived. Time and angle are considered from the beginning of the turn up to the deceleration to the minimum speed. Turn is performed at such load factor when required thrust exceeds available one a thrust deficit causes airplane deceleration. Solution in dimensionless shape is based on analytical integration of the motion equations for airplane as mass point. Engine characteristics are expressed by available thrust constant with speed. Aerodynamic characteristics are expressed by parabolic polar curve limited by maximum value of the lift coefficient. Formulas are completed due generalizing diagrams to calculations make easier.
