000003858 520__ $$2eng$$aActively suspended driver´s seat is in development at the TU Liberec. It was already described in several publications (Kupka L., Jane ek B., Buchta J., Šklíba J., 2005-2007). Results of some measurements on the developed active seat (development stage end of 2007) and on passive driver’s seats are presented in this paper. Seats were measured in laboratory on a hydroelectric rig and tested in a truck at TATRA proving ground. Laboratory tests have shown, that tested passive seats behave practically as a 1DOF linear system, whereas developed active driver’s seat has strongly nonlinear behaviour. It was stated, that transmissibility of vertical floor acceleration to driver´s seat cushion acceleration of active seat was far more advantageous than that of passive seats. Transmissibility results gained in laboratory were however not confirmed in onroad measurements, both for passive as well as active seats. Transmissibilities gained from on-road measurements on very different roads differ so profoundly from the laboratory ones, that driver´s very strong active involvement on his vibrational motions must be supposed.
