Vibration of bridges under high speed trains

Abstract eng:
The simple theoretical model explains the dynamic behaviour of railway bridges subjected to high speed trains. The integral transformations of the governing partial differential equation present the deflections, stresses and vertical accelerations of the beam model of a bridge in a closed compact form. The numerical solution gives a survey of the effect of various parameters, like speed of trains, span of bridges, damping etc. Moreover, the stress records were classified using the rain flow counting method and presented the stress spectra which enable the fatigue calculations and life estimations.
