Numerical solution of lateral earth pressures – elastic-plastic solution using FEM and solution using GLPT theory


Abstract eng:
This paper discusses the comparison of numerical methods used and developed for solution lateral earth pressure. It will be described solution using Mohr-Coulomb plasticity model and using GLPT theory. Description of numerical algorithm for plasticity solution and GLPT will be also shown. Finally there will be shown example and compared with current usual methods (DPM).
