A probabilistic concept SBRA based on Limit State philosophy, Monte Carlo simulation technique and parameters generated histograms has been developed over the last fifteen years and documented e.g. in [5] and [10]. The paper shortly explains the limitations of the Partial Factors Design concept, PFD, and on concrete example of a simple steel structure shows the differences between reliability assessment based on the PFD approach used in Eurocode and SBRA method.
