Analysis and compensation thermal errors of machine tools


Abstract eng:
This paper deals with problem solving of the thermal errors of machine tools by using of the indirect compensation methods. A detailed analysis of machine tool thermal behaviour is necessary for successful thermal errors compensation. The compensation algorithms of thermo-elastic deformations use linear or polynomial equations. The main objective is on-line parameter determination of the compensation equations directly on machine tool. Criteria of evaluation and causes of the compensation models failure are also briefly mentioned. Methods of the compensation relation determination are verified for machine tools. By means of application of the compensation algorithms, inaccuracy of parts machining caused by thermal errors will be reduced by more than 2/3.
