Envelope of modulated harmonic components extraction from noise and vibration signals

Abstract eng:
The paper deals with a non-causal order-tracking filter that is known as a Vold-Kalman filter. The V-K filter is intended to analyse tonal noise and vibration signals that are obvious in diagnostics of machine running in cyclic fashion and equipped by geared transmission units. The basic idea of V-K filtration consists of the system of data and structural equations. The data equations express a simple fact, that a measured signal is a sum of harmonic component and an additive error signal while the structural equations govern the harmonic component generation as an output of a linear dynamic system affected by a random error,. The minimum of a weighted sum of both the random error variances results in evaluation of the harmonic component envelope.
