A Novel Technique for Wind Speed Forecasting Using Grey Predictor

Abstract eng:
Wind energy is considered one of the most rapidly growing sources of electricity generation allover the world. This paper presents a novel technique for wind speed forecasting based on using the Grey predictor model GM(1,1). Two different sets of data from two weather stations are used in comparing the obtained result form the proposed technique and those obtained from conventional time series based techniques. Simulation results are presented to validate the effectiveness of the new prediction technique for wind speed.
