Recent wind tunnel experiments aimed at identifying important parameters affecting the wind load on such structures have yielded some results relevant to understanding framework/equipment interaction effects. Limited references providing data applicable to this problem recognize that the wind loads on equipment included inside a frame may be reduced from shielding effects. Results from this study confirm this but also illustrate the possibility of increasing wind loads due to lateral interference effects.
