Wind-induced Pressures and Internal Forces in Generic Low-rise Building

Abstract eng:
The wind tunnel study of building pressures on 1:200 geometrical scale model of a 1ow-rise building was carried out in the Wind Engineering and Fluids Laboratory, Colorado State University. The purpose of this investigation was to examine the effects of the record length on the peak wind-induced pressures and internal forces (bending moment) in a generic structural frame. The paper presents representative results that include the approach flow, building pressures and bending moment. These data show significant effects of the data record on the peak values of the pressure and the moment. Further studies are desired to investigate these effects in more detail.
