Torsional wind loads measured on a full-scale low-rise building

Abstract eng:
In this study, the wind-induced mean and fluctuating torque is first obtained by integrating the pressures measured on the walls of the WERFL test building. Instantaneous wind pressure distributions are then analyzed to establish maximum torque. The instantaneous wind pressure distribution coinciding with maximum torque is compared with instantaneous pressure distributions coinciding with maximum along-wind load and across-wind load. The correlation of these three wind loads is studied for consideration of wind load combination, and finally a wind load combination method is proposed and is applied to a low-rise building.
