The derivation not only leads to analytical formulas of homogenized elastic stiffnesses of honeycomb sandwiches but also demonstrates the significance of usually neglected skin effect on computation modeling of sandwich structures. The MPH technique developed in this study is expected to be an effective tool for structural homogenization problems.
