PARALLEL SOLUTION IN OPTIMIZATION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAM DESIGN

Abstract cze:
Abstrakt: One of the main requests in engineering practice is to have an effective design procedure of a reinforced concrete continuous beam. This task is a multidimensional and multimodal optimization problem. Our effort is to prove the reliability and efficiency of stochastic optimization methods in this area. A parallel version of the genetic algorithm based strategy, called the augmented simulated annealing method, can solve the proposed problem. Preliminary results show a possibility of new developments in this research.
