Expatiates on the theories of mode testing methods proposing recently years in this paper, including modal synthesis method, complex modal method, empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and random decrement technique (RDT) method, mode strain energy method, curvature model method, strain modal method, etc. Analysis the testing method and analytic method of simply-supported beam bridge natural characteristics. Academic and examinational preparations were offered for the application of inclinometer in natural characteristics testing of beam bridges.
