INFLUENCES OF GRANITE BY-PRODUCT TO PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF MORTAR

Abstract eng:
Utilization ratio of surplus soil from construction site is floundering recently and it is necessary to develop the newly application methods and technologies of surplus soil. In this research, mortar specimens replaced the standard sand with the granite by-profuct; produced from the granitic quarry of Shodoshima island in Kagawa prefecture, were examined in order to evaluate the influence of replacing ratio to physical and mechanical properties of mortar. As a result from both the fluidity and the strength of mortar specimens, it was concluded that granite by-product could be useful admixture when replaced it as fine aggregate.
