Trends in the use of mobile technologies in Heritage Education in Spain

Abstract eng:
Our paper reviews available evidence on the latest trends concerning the use of mobile ICTs in Heritage Education in Spain and moreover provides a theoretical model for their use and implementation on the basis of six structuring concepts: Heritage, Heritage Education, ICTs, Educational Innovation, Teaching-Learning and Innovation. The review of the literature on programmes implemented in Spain suggests that the future of Heritage Education goes hand in hand with mobile technologies and devices as well as ubiquitous learning, which together with the current situation in terms of cutbacks in resources works the effect of promoting activities based on AR, QR Codes, georeferencing and apps. The earliest and simplest assessments of these programmes have thus far provided fine initial results as regards learning, but broader and deeper evaluations are still needed to confirm such data.
