Stochastic Method to Evaluate Maximum Response Value for SDOF Excited by Input Motion Expressed as Arbitrary Shape Spectrum
Abstract eng: A stochastic method is proposed to evaluate root mean square (RMS) response displacement, expectation and standard deviation of maximum value of the single degree of freedom (SDOF) system under transient conditions excited by input motion expressed as an arbitrary shape power spectrum density function. Accuracy of the proposed method is examined by comparing with the results of Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS).
